What Does Hypnosis Feel Like?

Eveyone experiences a hypnotic trance in different ways but generally, it is extremely positive and relaxing. Relaxation can be felt as heaviness in the limbs, a tingling sensation in your hands or feet, or it can feel like you are floating. Most people experience feeling heavy, loose, limp and relaxed. It is a wonderful sensation, especially compared to the day to day tension of our busy, hectic and stressful lives.

As the body is released from conscious control during the relaxed trance-like state of hypnosis, breathing becomes slower and deeper, the pulse rate drops and the metabolic rate falls. Similar changes along nervous pathways and hormonal channels enable the sensation of pain to become less acute, and the awareness of unpleasant symptoms, such as nausea or indigestion, to be alleviated.

You can hear sounds around you but you are so relaxed the sound is noted but unimportant.
